Like last week, it was with another touch of sadness we delivered The Boudin Barndance this evening as we remembered two departed Barndance heroes, Joe Ely and Austin-based jack-of-all-trades Jim Stringer. Ely is an obvious Barndance hero. Stringer was lesser known, but was the link into the discovery of a whole different Austin scene for which I am forever thankful. Prior to all of this, it was a first set focusing on mostly new releases followed by a set heavy on recent holiday related fare and then into our weekly C&W segment. New albums and singles making the Barndance hit parade tonight came from The Autumn Defense, Kelly Finnigan, Parlor Green and a Vee-Jay Record xmas collection. Buttshaker of the week????
