This week’s show was dominated by the conclusion of our two-part look at the 1990s Austin, TX music scene. It was one that saw a ton of releases that were fixtures on The Boudin Barndance in our ‘90s timeframe. Boy that decade yielded some incredible stuff. It filled the 2nd half of tonight’s program. Our first hour was primarily new recordings including a new benefit compilation to help support the Galactic Theatre in Warren, RI called “Survivin’ the Friggin’ Apocalypse.” It features contributions from a who’s who of area artists and is available at Bandcamp. We also remembered Country Hall of Fame DJ Ralph Emery during our C&W segment. He passed away several weeks ago and was influential in my world for his Nashivlle Now program which ran during the 1980s on TNN back in the good old days when it was a music and sports oriented network. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight included music from Erin Rae, Amythyst Kiah (single), Sierra Ferrell (single), Neil Young & Crazy Horse, and David Ferguson (single). Buttshaker of the week???? Keepin’ it in Austin, High Noon with “Stranger Things.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
