UPCOMING BOUDIN BARNDANCE INFO:
Nothing special.

Reading Jesse Dayton’s fine new memoir Beaumonster had me revisiting the 1990s Austin, Texas music in my libary and to the point I decided a Boudin Barndance flashback to that era was in order and we did that tonight devoting the entire 2nd half of the show to it. It was a great scene and probably for the kind of music we play on Thursday nights, the richest scene in the land at that time. Countless visits there sure proved it to me, as did the many fine albums. As expected, we only scratched the surface on tonight’s show and will continue with one final look on next week’s program. Prior to that, it was an opening hour of primarily new releases followed by our weekly C&W set. New albums and singles making their Barndance debut tonight included music from Brent Cobb, Sophie & The Broken Things, Marshall Crenshaw, Jeremy Scott, Drunken Prayer, Del McCoury Band, Greensky Bluegrass, and BigDumbHick. Buttshaker of the week???? In the spirit of Austin circa ‘90-s, Wayne the Train takes it with “Juke Joint Jumping.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
