The 24th annual Rhythm & Roots Festival coming up on September 2-4 at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, RI was the principal order of business on The Boudin Barndance as we welcomed festival mentor (and former long-time WRIU Folk & Roots DJ/Director) Chuck Wentworth onto the program to talk about this year’s extravaganza. We spent the 7-9 pm segment of the show doing it playing music from many of the bands and getting the skinny on all things Rhythm & Roots. Always a fun time doing this show and this year’s edition was no exception. Check out www.rhythmandroots.com for complete information. We spent the 1st hour of the program focusing mainly on new releases. Singles and albums making their Barndance debut tonight came from Kelsey Waldon, Megg Farrell, Lee Bains & The Glory Fires, Jesse Baylin, Amythyst Kiah, and Tedeschi-Trucks.
