The first Boudin Barndance of October was a busy one. New releases dominated the first hour. It was birthday salutes galore during our C&W set kicking off our 2nd hour. We dedicated an entire set to the music of Marty Stuart in honor of his birthday yesterday and his upcoming induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Saluted even more birthdays in our final hour including Marc Savoy, Jo-El Sonnier, Chris Gaffney and Kelly Willis. In remembrance of Roy Head who we lost last week, we closed the show out with his classic “Treat Her Right.” Recent and upcoming releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from The Mastersons (a new EP), Sunny War (single), Brent Cobb, Joan Osborne, Kenny Roby, Diana DeMuth, Stephie James, Bonnie Whitmore, and Bette Smith. Buttshaker of the week???? Gonna give it to Bette Smith with “I’m a Sinner.” Now let’s all grab a cold one, or three, and get to the goods….
