Back in the Boudin Barndance saddle after a week off for some vacationing. A busy night of catching up with recent releases and asundry other things. With respect to the latter, we remembered Texas guitar great Jesse Taylor who passed away last week by playing a lengthy set of music from projects he was involved with over the years. Previewed music from the upcoming release from New England band The Stumbleweeds who play Jake’s in Providence on Saturday night. Lots of new albums making their Barndance debut’s tonight with the latest release from Dale Watson called Whiskey or God leading the charge. It’s standard-issue Dale which means thumbs up. Other first-timers included releases from Bryan Sutton, Cooper’s Uncle (belatedly), Shawn Camp, Cantro-Matic, Brothers & Sisters (love this one!), Moonlight Towers, Wrinkle Neck Mules, Eric Hisaw, Sam Baker, Tom Freund, and a gospel collection from Dualtone Reords called Voice of the Spirit. Buttshaker of the night????? Ray King with a bit of dieselbilly called “Big Wheel”.
