Spring seems to have sprung around here, so we celebrated on the Boudin Barndance this evening with the usual potpourri of fixins. Cold drinks optional, of course, but we do recommend them. All evening we drove home the need for participation in Record Store Day which happens Saturday, April 19 (www.recordstoreday.com). Get your ass out and support your local or nearby independent record store. If you dig this show, I’m thinking a record store or three figured prominently in your upbringing. As for the rpogram, we featured music from Amy Allison who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday evening (www.myspace.com/rootshoot). New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the inaugural time included recordings from James McMurtry, Bo Ramsey, Flat Duo Jets, and Ronny Elliot. Buttshaker of the week???? Speaking of Flat Duo Jets, they take the trophy with a heavy duty cover of Glen Glenn’s “Everybody’s Movin'”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
