Into a tropical thing in these parts, hence the air conditioned WRIU bunker was a great place to be as we broadcasted another edition of The Boudin Barndance. We remembered Bobbly “Blue” Bland on tonight’s program. Also featured music from Slaid Cleaves who plays the Narrows Center for the Arts on Saturday night. Also played one in tribute to Blue Mountain who play their final show as a band this weekend in Mississippi at the Hill Country Picnic. Also did a mini-preview (Part 2) of the upcoming Swamp Stomp music festival happening July 13 in West Kingston, RI. See above for performers and event page. Shined the new release spotlight on both the new Mavis Staples and Big Star albums. Other new releases making their Boudin Barndance debut this evening included albums from The Carper Family, Tex Smith, Earl Poole Ball, Switchback, and Guy Clark. Buttshaker of the night????
