With temps pushing near 90 today, summer may have finally arrived in these
parts. A beautiful night for blasting that radio on the outdoor porch,
getting a cold beverage or two, and tuning into The Boudin Barndance. At
least it seemed like it to me. If you took us up on it, hopefully we
satisfied with this evening’s fixing’s. A couple of features on the program
tonight, the first being a mini preview of the Newport Folk Festival
happening this weekend. 2nd was a look at the new Jayhwaks anthology titled
“Music From the North Country” with the bulk of the set focusing on Disc 2
which consists of rarities, unreleased recordings, B sides, etc. Overall, a
pretty good collection and recommended for all Jayhawks fans. New releases
making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included albums from
Charlie Robison, The Bottle Rockets, Wussy, and local heroes The Low Anthem.
