What is it about rain and Thursday nights this Summer and Spring? Tonight
pushed the Ocean State into record-breaking rain territory for the month of
July – 10+ inches. How did we celebrate such a fete on tonight’s Barndance?
By staying sequestered in the bunker and cranking out the tunes.
Leading the charge was a preview of a small, under-the-radar outdoor
festival put on by yours truly and company this Saturday, July 25. It’s an
extension of our Roots Hoot house concert series that we’re calling Swamp
Stomp. It features legendary Mississippi bluesman T-Model Ford & Gravel
Road in the headlining position along with Bloodshot recording artists
Dollar Store and local heroes Shacklehands. We’re real excited and the
forecast looks good. If you get this and have interest, shoot me an e-mail.
Other than the Swamp Stomp preview, it was odds and ends, as usual. New
stuff making the Barndance hit parade for the first time were albums from
Holly Williams (thumbs up) and Rick Shea. Buttshaker of the week???? Why
T-Model Ford with “Cut You Loose”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to
