September is here and URI is in session, so a bubbling campus to arrive to this evening for the first Boudin Barndance of the fall semester. Makes no matter to me as I bid adieu to this school many moons ago. So what was on the agenda tonight? We began with a slew of new releases in the first two sets before going honky tonkin’. Previewed the upcoming Dudesmash2 event at The Met Café on Sept. 14. A very solid lineup headlined by Deer Tick and The Low Anthem. Also previewed the upcoming Califone/Richard Buckner show at The Met on Sept. 18. New releases making their Barndance debut tonight included albums from Missy Raines & the New Hip, Peter Cooper, Tim O’Brien & Darrell Scott, The Grahams, Owen Temple, Charlie Greene, Band of Heathens, T. Hardy Morris, Toy Soldiers, Richard Buckner, Califone, Brazos, North Mississippi All-Stars, and the new Alabama tribute called High Cotton. Buttshaker of the week???? Garage shake of The Trashed Romeos with “Gotta Find a New Love”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods
