Playing the field was what we did on The Boudin Barndance this evening. No previews, no live guests. Just straight music with a decidedly honky tonk slant in the 2nd part of the show. The first half was dominated by new releases with albums from Ry Cooder, John Hiatt, Ryan Bingham, Chris Knight, Will Johnson, Sean Rowe, Calexico, and Carolyn Mark all receiving their inaugural Barndance spin on this evening’s program. Buttshaker of the week???? Down to Mississippi for a slice of ’60s garage goodness from The Gants with “Smoke Rings”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
