A cool and dreary day in these parts, so what better way to raise the spirits than an evening with The Boudin Barndance. If you tuned in, hopefully we did just that. Another full plate of stuff including two whole sets of country music birthday remembrances, previews of shows from Polaris (at Met Café in Pawtucket on Saturday night), The Howlin’ Brothers (playing a house concert hosted by yours truly on Sunday), and the Norman Bird Sanctuary 40th annual harvest fair on Saturday and Sunday which features a bunch of great bands highlighted by a Blood Oranges reunion on Saturday night. Our occasional new album spotlight featured the excellent new Chris Smither tribute called Link of Chain. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening included albums from Christopher Denny, Mister Roper, The Hello Strangers and Justin Townes Earle. Buttshaker of the week???? The Cochran Brothers take the big salami with “Tired & Sleepy”. Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
