Summer returned to Southern New England on this balmy Thursday. The Boudin
Barndance celebrated with assorted goodies. Two features on this evening’s
program. First up was a preview of music from Bruce Robison who plays at a
house concert hosted by yours truly on Sunday evening. The other focus was
a set of music to close the show from a new three volume set from Norton
Records celebrating the 45 RPM madness of Mad Mike Metrovich. Titled “Mad
Mike Monsters”, the highly recommended three volumes salute the legendary
Pittsburgh DJ in typical top flight Norton Records no holds, wigged-out rock
& roll style. Play ’em loud! Other than the Mad Mike set, not much for
albums making their Barndance debut this evening. The lone newcomer was the
new release from Nashville-based country chanteuse Caitlin Rose.
Interesting stuff. Buttshaker of the week???? Four Sounds with “Mama
Ubangi Bangi”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods……
