Mucho stuff on the Boudin Barndance plate this evening. First and foremost, we remembered El Bebop Kid, the great Freddy Fender, by closing out the show with a lengthy set of his music. Thanks to the folks at Fat Caddy Records, we featured music from and did a CD giveaway for the latest release from the Austin-based label called “Live at Momos” by The Band of Heathens. Many new releases receiving their first Barndance spin(s) this evening. They included new ones from Michael Hall, M. Ward, Richard Buckner, Pernice Brothers, Butch Hancock, Thrift Store Cowboys, Jay Sherman-Godfrey, The Sadies, Los Straitjackets, and a reissue from Thee Midniters. Also gave away a pair of tickets for Wayne Hancock’s show at the Bank Street Cafe in New London, CT next Friday, October 27. Check out www.bankstreetcafe.com. Buttshaker of the night?????
