A mixed bag of stuff on the Barndance menu on this wet, cold, and gloomy night
in Southern New England. Remembered the late Doug Sahm and Gram Parsons on the
occasion of their upcoming birthdays. Commemorated next week’s induction of
Kris Kristofferson into the Country Music Hall of Fame with a set of tunes from
his 1970 debut album. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the
first time included recent albums from Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Richard
Bennett, a reissue of Little Darlin’ sides from Groovy Joe Poovey, George
Strait’s hits collection, and Isidro Lopez who I recently learned passed away
over the summer Buttshaker of the night????? The Treniers with a song which we
can only wish would come true, “We Want a Rock ‘n’ Roll President”. Now onto
