The New Year’s Eve edition of The Boudin Barndance was a party primer filled with R&R&R&B&C&W 7-inchers, LPs, and CDs galore, not to mention a Hank Williams memorial set in remembrance of his last night on the planet back in ’52. As part of the party primer portion of the show, we also managed to break out a few new things. These included the two new multi-volume collections from Norton Records (www.nortonrecords.com) focusing on early material from Sun Ra and archival stuff from the mad-capped world of Kim Fowley. Buttshaker of the week???? It was a night filled with ’em, but we give the nod to the late Hasil Adkins with the classic “Do the Hot Pants With Me”.
