THIS SATURDAY is our 5th annual Swamp Stomp Music Festival takes place from noon to 9 pm on
July 21 at a beautiful property on the outskirts of The Great Swamp in West
Kingston, R.I. Featured performers are J.C. Brooks & the Uptown Sound, Amy
LaVere, Valerie June, Mark Cutler & The Men of Great Courage, and

Another full plate for The Boudin Barndance this evening. We began by paying our respects to the Queen of Country Music, Kitty Wells, who passed earlier in the week. A favorite of the Barndance since we began this whole she-bang back in ’87, she was a true trailblazer and left an incredible supply of great country music. Next up was a preview of J.P. Harris & the Tough choices who play at Local 121 in Providence on Tuesday night. from there it was onto another preview of the artists playing our 5th annual Swamp Music Fest on July 21 in West Kingston, R.I. Info on that event is above. Finally, we welcomed local hero Joe Fletcher into the studio. Joe has had a banner year so far and it culminates with an appearance at the Newport Folk Festival. Joe plays on Sunday, July 29. A great achievement and an artist definitely worth your while. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included the great new EP from Jimbo Mathus, a reissue of Jim Mize’s highly recommended 2nd release, and the new Light in the Attic compilation Country Funk. Buttshaker of the week???? Black Lips with “Time”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
