Wayne Hancock
Viper of Melody
Bloodshot Records

Stylistically speaking, Wayne “The Train” Hancock records may not vary much from album to album but you can always count on plenty of hot picking oft-times in the improvisational style and an old school honky tonk beat. Like Bob Wills with his Texas Playboys band, Hancock’s hallmark, aside from his Hank-ish croon, has always been to let his players play and that they do to the nines on the new Viper of Melody. The menu is stellar juke joint mix of snappy Western swing tunes, smooth hillbilly blues, and hot stepping honkabilly rockers. Visit www.waynehancock.com.

Wayne “The Train” Hancock appears at Club Hell in Providence on Saturday, May 23.
