Sleep with One Eye Open

If you didn’t know any better, you might think Sleep with One Eye Open from the duo of Chris Thile (Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers) and Michael Daves is some long lost Folkways Records artifact. Feeling like late night jam session, in this case between a couple of virtuosic pickers, the songs, all bluegrass and country classics, are vintage as is the sound and equipment on which the album was recorded. Frankly put, Sleep with One Eye Open sounds old, and in a loose, good, and down-home way.
