As usual, we kept it busy on The Boudin Barndance radio show this evening. Our monthly “Album you need to hear” feature was back tonight with a look at the 2000 self-titled album from Austin, Texas-based singer/songwriter Damon Bramblett. It was his one and only and remains a desert island disc for me. We also featured a few cuts from the new Gary Stewart collection One Track Mind which comes out Friday from the Delmore Recording Society. (A deeper dive is planned for a future show.) It features all pre-RCA material and is must-have goods for any and all Stewart fans. It is also perfect timing given the release of the excellent Stewart biography I Am From The Honky Tonks by Jimmy McDonough back in April. Prior to that, it was mostly new releases the first hour followed by the weekly C&W segment and then a final hour of birthday remembrances. New albums and singles making the Barndance hit parade this evening came from Billy Strings, Trampled by Turtles w/ Jeff Tweedy, Rhiannon Giddens, Angela Autumn, Laura Cantrell (reissue), Kimmie Bitter, Charley Crockett, Futurebirds, and of course, Gary Stewart.
