After a break last week due to URI basketball broadcast, it was a full-on Boudin Barndance this evening. We kicked off with an hour of new stuff before moving into our C&W segment. Mostly played the field during the second half of the program, but we did remember two artists who passed recently in Memphis-based guitarist David Cousar who I first discovered via the music of Amy Lavere and Como, MS based bluesman R.L. Boyce. Oh yeah, we also had our first ticket giveaway in a long time for Lukas Nelson & POTR who play The Strand in Providence on Sunday evening. New albums and singles debuting on this evening’s Barndance came from Jon Dee Graham, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Chris Stapleton, Dori Freeman, Mary Timony,Dylan Leblanc, Anna St. Louis, and Faith & Harmony. Buttshaker of the week???? Givin’ it to Booker T. Jones with “Down in Memphis.” Now let’s all grab a cold one or three, and get to the goods….
