Even an icy as heck URI Memorial Union parking lot could not stop The Boudin Barndance tonight. Scorecard so far this winter: Boudin Barndance 2, Mother Nature 0. A busy show this evening which we had to cut 30 minutes short as a date with Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires was awaiting in el Prov. One of them fine Bloodshot samplers finished the job in fine fashion. As for the show, we remembered R&B, soul, and funkateer The Mighty Hannibal who passed on 30 Jan. Previewed and gave away tix to the The Autumn Defense show at the Narrows in Fall River on Friday night (tonight!). Ernest Tubb was in the birthday spotlight tonight. Had he still been with us, the original ET would have been 100 years old this coming Sunday. Oh yeah, a few from Chris Mills who plays a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night. Come check it out! New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included albums from St. Paul & the Broken Bones (big thumbs up!), The Sacred Shakers, Tony Trischka, and Blue Highway.
