We sent tonight’s entire Boudin Barndance out to Room 505 at Newport Hospital where a very important part of the program is convalescing after back surgery (and progressing quite well, especially after Syl Johnson serenaded her with “Try Me”). Lots of old and new on this evening’s program, including Syl. Closed things out with a Mardi Gras/Louisiana set in part to preview Saturday’s 20th annual Cajun & Zydeco Mardi Gras Ball happening at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston, RI. New albums making their Barndance debut this evening included recordings from Tommy Womack, Have Gun Will Travel, Heartless Bastards, Sharon Van Etten, and Cowboy Junkies. Buttshaker of the week???? In the Cajun spirit, Steve Riley & the Mamou Playboys with the “Lawrence Walker Medley”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
