Time got a little away from us on the Boudin Barndance tonight. Things kicked off with a bunch of records about records. From there it was into a set in remembrance of Kirk Rundstrom of Split Lip Rayfield fame who lost his battle with cancer last week. I have several great memories of seeing him both solo and with the band. Featured some tunes from R&B legend Solomon and gave away a pair of tix for his performance on Saturday, March 3 at the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford, MA (www.zeiterion.org). In honor of their anniversary (March 1) and in remembrance of his birthday (Feb. 26), closed things out with some Johnny & June. Worked in some new releases, too, with first-time spins going out to recent albums from Cam Penner & Gravel Road, Derek Lee Bronston, and Lucy Kaplansky. Buttshaker of the night???? Charles Senns with “Dig Me a Crazy Record”. Now onto the goods….
