The first Boudin Barndance of March was a busy one. Shined the spotlight on two new releases from Light in the Attic Records, a reissue of the 1969 release called Rainmaker from British folksinger/guitarist Michael Chapman and a terrific collection of 1964-65 soul nuggets from short-lived (but highly recommended) Stax recording artist Wendy Rene. We celebrated the birthday of the late Johnny Cash with a set of live recordings from San Quentin Prison. A bunch of releases making their Barndance debut this evening including new ones from Lucero, Emma Lee, Jim White, Punch Brothers, the foursome of Farrar, Johnson, Parker & Yames, Chuck Mead & the Grassy Knoll Boys, Dead Fingers, and Chuck Prophet. Buttshaker of the week???? The aforementioned Wendy Rene in a runaway with Bar-B-Q”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
