Ahhhh, the show the week following our annual radiothon fundraiser is always pure relief and that was the feeling on this evening’s Boudin Barndance. Back to the business of playing music! A variety of things on the menu this evening. We remembered two fallen music heroes, Jason Molina of Magnolia Electric Company and Songs: Ohia fame and the rockabilly hall of famer Eddie Bond. Previewed some shows in the weekend this area from Ocean State blues hero Duke Robillard, ex-pat Sarah Potenza and her Tallboys band, and Patrick Sweany who plays a house show hosted by yours truly in Peace Dale on Saturday night and then travels to Providence for a gig at Local 121 on Easter night. Lots of new releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time including albums from Caitlin Rose, Low, Dawn McCarthy & Bonnie”Prince” Billy, David Luning, Duke Robillard Band, The Black Angels, and The Cave Singers. Buttshaker of the night???? The “Duke” with a grinder called “Below Zero”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
