A gorgeous Spring evening here in Southeastern New England. A good night to grab a couple of cold ones, head out to the porch, and crank the radio and listen to The Boudin Barndance. That’s what we would’ve been doing if we didn’t have to deliver the goods. A big mixed bag on tonight’s show from rootsy to country to blues and R&B to a big guitar finish. Previewed some tunes from Luke Winslow-King whose Bloodshot Records debut is just out and who plays a house concert hosted by yousr truly next Friday (www.facebook.com/#!/events/455731221171922/). New albums making their Barndance debut tonight included records from Cold Satellite, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Roy Sludge (very belated), The Wild Fruit, The Copper Gamins, Mikal Cronin, and the soundtrack to Ghost Brothers of Darkland County. Buttshaker of the night???? In honor of our youngest’s birthday today, “Hey Mae” by The Kershaw Brothers. Of course, now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
