We celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Boudin Barndance this evening in very low key fashion. Other than sprinkling in some tunes from Gram Parsons who we did a big-ass feature on show #1 back in May of 1987, it was business as usual. Featured music from Roy Bookbinder who plays the Music at Lilypads in Peace Dale on Saturday and the Scud Mountain Boys who play a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday night, also in Peace Dale. We remembered legendary Stax house band bassist Donald “Duck” Dunn who passed away this past weekend with a set of tunes to close out the evening. New and recent releases making their Barndance debut included albums from Li’l Mo & the Monicats, Mark Collie & the Reckless Companions, The Mystix, Hiss Golden Messenger, Joe Goldmark, Carole King (demos), and Diamond Rugs. In remembrance of Duck Dunn, The Mar Keys with “Tighten Up”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
