A gorgeous evening here in Southeastern New England and hopefully you were
on your porch with cold drink in hand tuned into The Boudin Barndance. It
was a busy one as we featured and gave tickets away for a couple of upcoming
festivals. First up was the DudeSmash Festival curated by local heroes Deer
Tick happening at The Met Café in Pawtucket on Saturday starting at 5 pm.
Lots of local bands and a few out of town ones (Turbo Fruits!) with the DT
boys obviously the headliners. Next up was the first of a two part preview
of the 26th annual Green River Festival happening July 14-15 at Greenfield
Community College in Greenfield, MA. Check out www.greenriverfestival.com
for the complete scoop. Finally, we remembered bass player Steve Kaika of
long-running New London rock & roll mainstays The Reducers who passed away
on Monday from cancer. There was to have been a benefit for Steve at the
Hygienic Art Park in New London tomorrow night. While the show will still
go on, it will be a memorial celebration of Steve. A few new releases
making their Barndance debuts this evening including albums from Emily Jane
White, Blitzen Trapper, Chris Smither, and Delta Moon. Buttshaker of the
week???? The Reducers with “Stop It Baby”. Now let’s all grab a cold one
