Hotter n’ hell here in the Ocean State on this first day of summer, but thank the heavens our WRIU bunker is air conditioned. It was pretty darn pleasant. As for the show, a few features on this evening’s menu among the many pleasantries. Featured music from Tab Benoit who plays the Met Café tomorrow evening. We did the 2nd of our two part preview of the 26th annual Green River Festival happening July 14-15 at Greenfield Community College in Greenfield, MA. Check out www.greenriverfestival.com for the complete scoop. We also featured music from the bands playing a terrific and free Summerstage bill at Central Park in NYC on Sunday afternoon: Alabama Shakes, Diamond Rugs, & Robert Ellis. New releases making their Barndance debut this evening included albums from These United States, Cory Chisel & the Wondering Sons, The Tallest Man on Earth, and Justin Jones. Buttshaker of the week???? Birthday girl Marti Brom with the swingin’ shuffle number “Blue Tattoo”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
