After yet another week off (and for something that turned out to be not worth missing the show for), The Boudin Barndance was back in action tonight and will remain so for the long haul. The big event on tonight’s menu was previewing music from The Bottle Rockets who play a “yard” concert on Saturday produced by yours truly. (It was originally to be a house show hosted by us, but the big demand for tix forced us to find a larger (and secluded) locale and one perfect for an outdoor show.) The band is actually in Brooklyn working on their next record with Roscoe at the helm. As for the rest of the show, we had lots of catching up to do on new releases, along with playing lots of the usual type of odds and ends. New releases making their Barndance debut tonight included new ones from The Hacienda Brothers, Miss Leslie, Cole Mitchell & the Curs, local s/s Otis Read, Paperplanes, Nels Andrews, and Glenn Campbell. Buttshaker of the week???? Its got to be The Bottle Rockets with “Every Kind of Everything”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods….
