We welcomed Bloodshot recording artists Jim & Jennie and the Pinetops to the Boudin Barndance this evening. They joined us in the last hour playing a terrific 8-song set of songs mostly coming from the latest recording on Bloodshot called Rivers Roll On By. They sounded terrific. The band has three gigs in New England over the next three days. Friday night finds them headlining at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River, MA (www.ncfta.org). On Saturday the band plays the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, RI. Sunday night finds them at the Iron Horse in Northampton, MA. Be sure to check ’em out if they come to your town.
As for the rest of the show, lots of new releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time. They included the latest from the Waco Brothers, Rodney Crowell, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Bear & the Essentials, Miss Leslie & her Jukejointers, a live radio recording from Chaz & the Motorbikes, and a reissue from the band Sixty Aces.
