Luther Dickinson, a couple of recent soul compilations from the Trikont label of
Germany, Dirty Laundry: The Soul of Black Country and Cheatin’ Soul.
A couple of salutes on the Boudin Barndance agenda this evening, a birthday
tribute set to the late Buck Owens and a remembrance of San Antonio sax great
Rocky Morales of Westside Horns fame who passed away last week. New stuff
hitting the Barndance hit parade for the first time included releases from
Ollabelle, Jennifer O’Connor (with a Rhode Island themed tune – what’s up with
that?), Boris Garcia, and the Jimmy Deveney All-Stars. Buttshaker of the
night?????? Bump and grind is more like it with Andre Williams on the fitting
7-incher “Sweet Little Pussycat”. Now onto the goods…..
