Back in the Barndance saddle after a week off for some work travel obligations and boy was it a busy evening. First and foremost, with Sept. 12 being the anniversary of Johnny Cash’s passing, we paid tribute with a 35 minute set of music from the Man In Black to close the show out. In prep for the PBS American Masters series Bob Dylan film No Direction Home which airs next Monday and Tuesday evening, we played a bunch of tracks from the soundtrack which also doubles as Volume 7 in Legacy Recordings’ Dylan Bootleg Series. As if not enough, we also played some cuts from artists appearing at the Boston-based NEMO 2005 Americana showcase which happens next Thursday and Friday evening at the Cambridge Elks Club located at Central Square in Cambridge. Two great nights of music are planned with authentic BBQ courtesy of the Blue Ribbon folks on Friday night. Check out www.nemoboston.com. Oh yeah, a bunch of releases making their Boudin Barndance debut on tonight’s program.
