We closed out the Boudin Barndance for September this evening with a mostly
odds & ends show. We featured music from Idgy Vaughn who plays her first
show in the Ocean State this Saturday night performing at the Common Fence
Community Hall ( in Portsmouth, RI. We celebrated
Wanda Jackson FINALLY getting into the R&R Hall of Fame with a couple of
cuts from her. (Now WTF on Doug Sahm!!) The Hall’s got a lot of catching
up to do, if you ask me. Shined the spotlight on the new Charlie Haden CD
which is getting wads of attention this week. Other CDs making their
Barndance debut on this evening’s show included new ones from The Lonesome
Brothers (check them out!!!), Ralph Stanley, Starline Rhythm Boys, Mitch
Webb, and The Imus Ranch benefit CD. Buttshaker of the week???? G.L.
