The Boudin Barndance blog full of loads of useless info & opinion remains stalled.

Well, last week it was Porter Wagoner and this week it was Hank Thompson who was in the spotlight. The Country Music Hall of Fame member passed away on Tuesday. We remembered him with a couple of sets of his music on the Boudin Barndance this evening. We remembered Gram Parson and Doug Sahm each of whom would have celebrated a birthday this week. Featured music from a number of bands playing live in the area this weekend, that being Grubstake and Lucky 57 who play the Your Roots Are Showing series at the new Liberty Elm Diner in Providence on Saturday night, Marti Brom who plays at the Plough & Stars in Cambridge on Friday night, John Doe (Jake’s tonight) and Crooked Still (Narrows in Fall River on Saturday night). New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first included albums from Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, Grainbelt and Peter Mulvey. Buttshaker of the night????? How ‘bout a honky tonk shuffle ala Hank Thompson with “Lawdy, What a Gal”. Now let’s all grab a cold one and get to the goods…
