We welcomed Jack Smith of Jack Smith & the Rockabilly Planet fame onto the program this evening. A legend in these parts, the occasion was the announcement that he’ll be playing his final Rhode Island gig on November 19 at the Narragansett Cafe in Jamestown. A favorite haunt of Jack’s over the years, it’ll be one of those must-attend events. And by the way, admission is always free. Mark your calendars. Besides Jack’s appearance, also featured music from the Silos who’ll play a house concert hosted by yours truly on Saturday evening. First-time releases to the Barndance hit parade were minimal. We broke out the new Jon Dee Graham tribute “Big Sweet Life” as well as his First Bear on the Moon recording. Buttshaker of the night???? Being the 50th anniversary of George Jones’ “Why Baby Why” hitting the charts, we give it to that classic from the Possum.

On another note, we’ll have Beantown roots rocker Sarah Borges (www.sarahborges.com) in the studio with us next week. She’ll be on in the 8 – 9 PM hour. Now onto the goods…..
