This Sunday, I encourage listeners to think of my show as a possible soundtrack for Superbowl LX. It’s worth a shot maybe.
Anyway, about Picture This 118:
Out of the ether wherein John Lennon, Syd Barrett, Lewis Carroll and Bob Dylan got together for lunch and a chat, sprung from their collective psyche, one Robyn Hitchcock, first as the leader of the English rock band the Soft Boys, then as front man of Robyn Hitchcock and the Egyptians.
Since 1992, Hitchcock has worked as a solo creative force or collaborated with such stellar musicians as Peter Buck, Nick Lowe, Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings, and John Paul Jones, among others on two dozen studio albums. He has also been the subject of not one, but two film documentaries, which we’ll get into when Picture This: Film Music on the Radio returns to the WRIU Airwaves this Sunday at 6 PM.
Please join me if you can.
Looking forward to this show, Wayne. Love Mr. Hitchcock (also a fan of his partner Emma Swift!)
