A full plate on the Boudin Barndance this evening. We welcomed U.K. based singer/songwriter Michael Weston King into the studio this evening for his 1st stop on a month-long tour of the U.S. (Michael was also scheduled to play a house concert hosted by yours truly the following evening.) Michael was joined by pedal steel guitar player Alan Cooke. What with Mardi Gras just around the corner, we kicked the show off with some soul and R&B sounds of New Orleans. Also on the agenda was a set of music in memory of the late Johnny Cash who would’ve celebrated his birthday this Sunday. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included albums from Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash, James Hand, Ray Davies, and Porter Wagoner. Buttshaker of the night?????
