Back to normal on the Boudin Barndance this week after conducting our annual
fundraiser all of last week. The big news is WRIU is once again streaming on
the web, so tell your out of town chums the news. Not much for features on
tonight’s program, but we sure did break out a whole lot of new additions to the
Barndance library. Releases making their Barndance debut tonight included new
ones from Tom House, Ed Burleson, Rosie Flores, Johnny Cash, Terry “Buffalo”
Ware, Ollabelle (at the Narrows in Fall River on Saturday), Gurf Morlix, Blackie
& the Rodeo Kings, Kate Maki, and live recordings from the Stanley Brothers and
Johnny Horton. Also featured a cut from a 2-track EP from Boston-based Sarah
Borges. Buttshaker of the night????? A no brainer; Dale Hawkins with “Poor
Little Rhode Island” which may be the only song ever that refs the Ocean State
and Texas. Now onto the goods…..
