The first Boudin Barndance of August was split in three ways: a big hunk of C&W the entire first half of the program, new things for a set after halftime, and closing out with a small hunk of soul and R&B. Based on calls, it was just what the doctor ordered on this rainy evening. New releases making the Barndance hit parade for the first time included The Del Lords, Brendan Benson (advance EP), Valerie June, James Govan, and the recent Eddy Arnold tribute album “You Don’t Know Me”. Buttshaker of the night???? Jimmie Dolan in a runaway with “Hot Rod Race”. Now let’s all grab a cold one, or two, and get to the goods….
