Kicked off the Boudin Barndance this evening by looking at some recent country
reissues/retrospectives from Legacy recordings, namely Dolly Parton’s 1st three
releases for RCA and sides focusing on Johnny Cash’s gospel sides and Ray
Price’s “essential” stuff. Celebrated Mel Tillis’ entry into the Country Music
Hall of Fame with a trio of cuts. We remembered Lee Hazelwood with a few tracks
from the Totally Lee! compilation from several years back and a few from Duane
Eddy. Also worked in stuff from folks coming into the area to play live
including Tab Benoit and Peter Karp. New releases making the Barndance hit
parade for the first time included the aforementioned Legacy releases,
Schnitzel, Dollar Store, Danbert Nobacon, Peter Karp, Buddy Flett,
Everybodyfields, and Blackie & the Rodeo Kings. Buttshaker of the night?????
