Back in Barndance Land tonight after one more vacation week. That’ll take care
of time off for awhile now. Lots on the Boudin Barndance menu this evening.
First and foremost, we remembered the late Floyd Tillman on the one year
anniversary (8/22/03) of his death with a set of his music to close out the
program. Featured music from New England’s The Lonesome Brothers who play a
house concert produced by yours truly here in South Kingstown on Saturday night.
Also featured music from the band’s participating in tomorrow night’s monthly
installment of the terrific Yours Roots Are Showing (yourrootsareshowing.net)
series which happens at the Century Lounge located at 150 Chestnut Street in
Providence. Featured performers will be Hayseed with Jimmy Ryan, Rod Picott
with host band Lucky 57, Engine 143, and Eric Fontana. Lots of new things also
finding their way into the playlist this evening. Barndance first-timers
included new or recent releases from Billy Joe Shaver, Redd Volkaert, Engine
143, The Sadies, Nora O’Connor, Geraint Watkins, The Unbroken Circle
compilation, and a new collection of Lloyd Green’s Little Darlin’ sides.
